Yes, with a few exceptions, the squash plants seem to all be doing great this year. We’ve had a bumper crop of cucumbers and zucchinis, plus the acorn squash look like they’re almost ready to go, the butternut squash aren’t far behind and the pie pumpkins have started to turn orange! The gourds are also doing great!
The watermelon and cantaloupe on the other hand, struggled for most of June and just really started picking up steam in early July. Considering the size of fruit that they are supposed to bare, I’d say they seem to be quite behind.
The Hallowe’en pumpkins, my favourite among favourites, have been kind of in between. They are growing OK, but not setting much fruit and I’m worried I may not have as many pumpkins as I was hoping to have come October 31…
